Training

Training on topics related to ethnopsychiatry and medical anthropology, in public and private social contexts. We also organize seminars open to the public, with the participation of internationally renowned experts.
Seminars
The Frantz Fanon Association periodically organizes seminars and training opportunities open to the public, either free of charge or for a fee, to explore and critically reflect on a variety of topics. These events often involve internationally renowned trainers and experts.
Below are the main training opportunities currently available
Internship
The Fanon Center offers internships for both psychology degree students and psychotherapy specialization schools. Applications must be submitted between September 15 and 31, 2025, by sending a resume and cover letter to tirocini@associazionefanon.it or by filling out the form.
Volunteering
Yes, at the Fanon Center, we also welcome people who are interested in volunteering and actively participating in the life of the association and various training opportunities.
Currently, the areas of activity available are mainly in the field of communication, supporting website management, social networks, and the press office, in particular to support our advocacy activities.

Entracque School and Transitions
Every year, the Fanon Association organizes seminars in Entracque (CN) for in-depth study and reflection on key issues in ethnopsychiatry. Starting in 2025, a more substantial two-year training course will begin in Naples and Entracque, entitled Transitions – Fields of research and training for critical ethnopsychiatry [mostly in Italian].

Clinical activity
Individual or family ethnopsychotherapy and talking therapy groups characterise our approach to care, inspired by the principles of critical ethnopsychiatry and therapeutic models from other societies.

ACTIVITIES
Research
Our core activities focus on various themes: migration, health, violence and torture, the epistemology of clinical practice, the cultural construction of childhood, therapeutic strategies of traditional healers, witchcraft, young people and the imagery of migration.

International activities
Our activities have an international scope: they encompass research, clinical intervention, training and evaluation, and have been carried out over the years in Europe, North and Sub-Saharan Africa, the Middle East, Latin America and the Balkans.

Advocacy
Nel corso degli anni, l’Associazione Frantz Fanon ha instaurato significative collaborazioni a diversi livelli territoriali. A livello locale, spiccano le pluriennali collaborazioni con le ASL cittadine e i relativi poli funzionali.
